Works in Progress

My current Work In Progress is called End of Pain

They call him the Mountie because Rob Adams always gets his man. He and his partner Pete Bonnert are faced with a 1000-piece puzzle to solve the brutal murder of a young co-ed.

Someone is killing young long-haired blond co-eds, dumping their bodies in rural areas of Arlington, naked, beaten, cut, and branded. John Robert Adams (Rob), the Dudley Do-Right of detectives, must put together a 1,000 piece puzzle to find the killer before the killer finds his ultimate victim who turns out to be the sister of the woman with whom Rob is falling in love.

The Laurence Ladies enjoy dinner every week at a quirky pub called john Q’s. It’s owner, John McKean is a history buff who enjoys his conversations with Meg, Co-chair of the history department at the university, Juju a talented musician with hair the color of sunshine, and their aunt, M&M, who has captured John’s heart.

Rob is immediately drawn to Meg, a ‘pixie’, as he soon comes to think of her, while Meg is intrigued by Rob’s sad eyes and guarded persona. Still hurting from their past failed relationships, both deny their mutual attraction, hiding behind the walls they’ve built around their hearts. Truth be told, both would like nothing better than to let romance take them where it will and learn to overcome their fears. But, Rob has a killer to catch and a Ryan Eggold look-alike, named Justin Whitman inserts himself in the trio, courting JuJu, the younger sister and becomes a person of interest.

As Rob works the murders, tracking the route of murderer, he learns that the perpetrator also resembles Ryan Eggold and has traveled the path from California to Texas as Justin. What are the odds that Justin just happens to show up at john Q’s Pub, is attracted to JuJu, a long blond-haired co-ed and resembles the killer?

Rob must sort out many questions about Justin, map out a plan to catch a killer, and guard his heart from falling too fast and too hard for his pixie.

Stay tuned for updates.
